‘Tis the Season to Sparkle as Gateway transforms into a festive wonderland

With the mall transformed into a festive wonderland, Gateway is ready to welcome locals and holidaymakers to make fun-filled festive memories.

“Last year we went all-in, and the response was phenomenal. This year we’ve added even more fun and festivity,” says Michelle Shelley, Gateway’s Marketing Manager.

Even more fun

A series of ‘must visit’ holiday scenarios are located around the mall, just perfect for posing and sharing. Measure up to SA’s largest bauble, post your Christmas wish list at Santa’s Post Office; join the Teddy Toybox party; head for a romantic interlude of Jolly Wishes & Nutcracker Kisses and stop for a snap Under the Mistletoe.

Enthralling photo booths will take you from a wintery London to inside a snow globe in a few short steps. “We had such fun with World of Illusions and then the Bloom Room booths and now we can’t wait to see our visitors’ fabulous photos from the festive photobooths,” says Shelley. “We have created six completely different festive scenes that we know visitors will love.”

Museum of Memories

The Museum of Memories, celebrating Gateway’s 21st birthday this year is still up for visitors to enjoy at Expo Explore. “It’s not your typical museum,” says Shelley, “but rather an abundance of interactive stations for kids, teens and adults to engage with  and incidentally learn about this special place.”

Among the sparkles, there’s space for generosity at the charity gift-wrapping station and Disney’s towering 8m Chari-tree.

“With our extended trading hours, visitors can come to the mall when it suits them and make the most of all the festive fun, shopping and entertainment we have to offer,” says Shelley. From December 16 – 23 the mall will be open from 9 am to 10 pm, and close at 9 pm on Christmas Eve, and from 26 – 30 December.
